Quebec Forest Retreat

Only 35 minutes to Ottawa, this wilderness retreat was built with Passive House and Net Zero strategies to both save energy and be our comfortable family home.

This modern lake house, set on two acres of forest near Wakefield, Quebec, is a tranquil escape 35 minutes from Ottawa. With private dock access to Lac à l'île, it's ideal for nature lovers. The open-concept living space includes a wood stove, integrated kitchen, and dining area, extending to two large decks for enjoying the scenery.


The home features a lower-level recreation space with a lounge, workout area, and large windows with forest views. It includes three furnished bedrooms: a primary bedroom with a King bed and ensuite on the second floor, and two Queen bedrooms on the lower level. There are two and a half bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a great room. A grand, screened-in second-floor terrace offers a cozy spot to enjoy the outdoors, rain or shine.
