The Evergreen on Blackburn

The Evergreen on Blackburn

Evergreen on Blackburn is a new, mid-rise development on Ottawa's East side. Connected to a heritage church structure, this development pays respect to the past while responding to the needs of the future.

A truly unique 9 storey development, this 121-unit condo building is to be constructed over the apse of an existing, heritage church building (currently being used as an events space and restaurant). The exterior of the apse is left exposed on the interior of the new building's lobby, creating a direct connection to the history of the site and the beauty of its architecture.

As the lead architect on the project up until its application for site plan control, I had the privilege of working with a phenomenal team of professionals: architects, engineers, heritage specialists, the City of Ottawa, and of course the development team at Windmill. Together, we created something very special that I believe will stand the test of time and be a welcome addition to the neighbourhood!
